True or
False?..."Spiritual Beliefs Ruin People"
MP3
Recently I received an e-mail from a lady in her late twenties charging
that the beliefs and doctrines of the original parent church of the
Church of God had ruined the lives of her parents. Is that
possible? Can spiritual beliefs, be they true OR false, destroy
the life of a firstfruit Christian? Is one justified to claim a
minister led him astray? Could a human ever stand
before Christ in judgment and claim they were ruined by spiritual
beliefs or led astray by a man? Let's invoke Spirit-driven logic and see.
Can truth ruin a firstfruit?
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a
God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
–Deuteronomy 32:4
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth
to all generations. –Psalm 100:5
Truth is an attribute of God.
Truth purifies the brethren:
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the
Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another
with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed,
but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for
ever.
–1 Peter 1:22-23
Truth sanctifies those with the Holy Spirit:
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me
into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for
their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified
through the truth. –John 17:17-19
The truth sets firstfruits free:
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
–John 8:32
It is clear that Godly truth does not ruin people. This leaves
false spiritual beliefs. Do they ruin individuals who possess the
Holy Spirit?
Who gets in trouble?
If any man teach otherwise, and
consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud,
knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words,
whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse
disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,
supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
–1 Timothy
6:3-5
Answer: Those of corrupt minds
and those destitute of the truth. Firstfruits,
by definition of the Salvation Process are not either.
Who is saved from ruin?
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest
ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own
stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
–2
Peter 3:17-18
Answer: Those who grow in
grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those immersed in
the Word of God.
Firstfruits beware!!!
Beware lest any man spoil you
through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after
the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
– Colossians 2:8
Beware of dogs, beware of evil
workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which
worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no
confidence in the flesh. – Philippians 3:2-3
That we henceforth be no more
children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they
lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into
him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
– Ephesians 4:14-15
This is what firstfruits do as a matter of course.
Steadfast firstfruits CANNOT BE
RUINED!!
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be
ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
–1 Corinthians
15:58
For we are made partakers of Christ,
if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;
– Hebrews
3:14
Whom resist steadfast in the faith.
–1 Peter 5:9
Where there is diligence, ruin
cannot dwell
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give
diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these
things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto
you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ. –2 Peter 1:10-11
Holding fast the faithful word as he
hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort
and to convince the gainsayers. – Titus 1:9
Stay IMMERSED in the Word of God
