All Praise Belongs To
God
MP3
For much of our lives we are caught up in day-to-day, physical
living; just making it from one day to the next. In doing so, we
sometimes miss the overall state of mankind and what God really wants
for mankind.
Do you realize that most everything man does is a feeble attempt to
provide situations and things God would have freely given us had we not
rejected Him and which He will provide in the both the millennium and in
the Second Resurrection period. Let us look at a few:
Education:
The US, as just one country among many, spends
countless billions a year in educating our citizens. How much of a
lifetime is spent in one's education from K-12 and then 4 to 8 years of
college and graduate school or two or more years in a trade or specialty
school? God would have given us knowledge and education instantly.
Witness Adam and Eve, who had immediate knowledge and command of a
language and Exodus 31 where God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, gives
exceeding talent to individuals for the building of the tabernacle.
Transportation:
Trillions have been spent in various transportation systems including
roads, freeways, bridges, tunnels, airports, train tracks, railway
yards, shipping docks, airplanes, ships, trains and automobiles.
With God, all transportation would have been via angels and all this
expense and infrastructure would not be needed.
Industrial Complex: More
countless trillions have been spent inventing, erecting and maintaining
a massive, worldwide industrial complex where we make things which are
ultimately not needed or which act as inferior substitutes for what God
would have freely provided.
Standing Military Armies: Billions
are spent each year maintaining army, navy, marines, air force and coast
guard to protect us from foreign invaders and, now, terrorists.
God's protection would have eliminated this need.
Medical Professions: Billions
and Billions are spent in the US alone for what we call medical care.
Despite their best efforts and sincere attitudes, they are, compared to
God, admittedly in a guessing game when it comes to fighting the
maladies that visit mankind. God promises to heal all nations and
would have healed us from the beginning had we not rejected Him.
Cost? Nothing.
In all these things we do, we collectively pat ourselves on the back and
take the credit for what we have provided for ourselves. We put
our diplomas on the wall, give each other awards of achievement and
create positions of power and prestige that others bow down to. In
other words, man takes all the credit and praise for substituting
themselves for Almighty God. Further, the masses put their trust
in all these things. They rely upon man for knowledge, physical
needs, protection and healing. For most of mankind, any
acknowledgement or praise toward God is an afterthought.
We need to realize the only one in the Universe who deserves praise is
Almighty God.
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise
shall continually be in my mouth.
–Psalm 34:1
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my
fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver
thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou
trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
–Psalm 91:2-4
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that
hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of
his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts
with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
–Psalm 100:3-4
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all
his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy
diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee
with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with
good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
–Psalm 103:2-5
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his
goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
–Psalm 107:8
O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him,
all ye people. –Psalm 117:1
We must rely totally on God for everything and put no trust in any of
these things listed above. All praise belongs to God.
