SUBJECT:   United States and Prophecy

QUESTION:  What will happen to the US in light of Bible prophecy?

ANSWER:

The indications are that sometime after we enter into the Great Tribulation and National captivity (Matthew 24:9, 21-22; Luke 21:23-24 and Revelation 6:9-11) the United States will be involved in and defeated in what will be called World War 3.  All but about 35 percent will be killed as a direct result of war, famine and pestilence which history has shown us follow one another. Most of those remaining alive will be taken captive and a high percentage of those will die in captivity.

I understand that this all seem harsh and even strange but the scripture is clear...

Matthew 24:21-22

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Note:  Jesus is stating that with the coming of the great tribulation that things will get so bad that if God, the Father did not step in NO FLESH would be saved alive.  He is saying that every man, woman and child; almost seven billion people would perish.  Understanding this, is it hard to believe that a US population of some 310 million would or could be in peril?

The reason for our destruction is found in the Blessings and Cursings chapters of the Bible that speak to the nations of the world.  We are blessed if we, as a nation, obey God but we are cursed if we do not.  These are found in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28.  Just a few scriptures from Leviticus 26...

Leviticus 26:3-4---Blessings

3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Leviticus 26:7-8---Blessings

7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

Leviticus 26:14-21---Cursings

14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;

15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:

16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:

20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

Note:  Verse 19 says, "And I will break the pride of your power."  Has this not happened to this great country that is now full of crime, waste, greed and hate and who has, for the first time in history, begun losing wars and being sapped dry in yet other wars like we have witnessed in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq?  Nations are plotting to test our military and political resolve the world over (this has been so stated by our enemies in Europe and the Middle East).  We will actually be attacked by a United Europe that clearly you can see forming in Europe.  Their combined military will overwhelmingly overmatch ours.

The Good News is that God WILL intercede into the affairs of man and put an end to man's government on this earth.  Christ will return and put an end to man's government and warring ways.  Jesus Christ and His government will reign for 1000 years and mankind will know peace for real.  For all those that die in the Great Tribulation and who are dead now since the creation of man will be brought up at the end of that 1000 year reign of Christ and all be told the truth about God, Jesus Christ and their plan for all mankind.  It will be a wonderful time.
