SUBJECT: Tribulation
QUESTION: Who is going to
live and die among the saints in the tribulation? Which
church will God protect?
ANSWERS:
In answer to your question, some will die and several will
be protected. The scriptures are clear on this point.
Matthew 24:9-10
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall
kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's
sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one
another, and shall hate one another.
Matthew 10:17-20
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the
councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my
sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what
ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour
what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your
Father which speaketh in you.
Revelation 2:10
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer:
behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that
ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be
thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of
life.
Revelation 6:9-11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the
altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God,
and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O
Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our
blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it
was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little
season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren,
that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
The scriptures regarding protection are below. Now to
answer your question about just WHO is going to die and who
is going to live. First, you asked "what church?": the
answer is: the church that is doing God's Work. The one
that is fulfilling both the first and second commissions,
namely, proclaiming the gospel and feeding the flock. But
more than a church, it will be individuals who are picked
for protection and death.
It would seem that the most faithful will be the ones who
die in the name of Jesus Christ. What an honor!! The rest
of the faithful will be protected. The key is that they are
the FAITHFUL, committed, zealous and involved in both the
Work and in their personal Salvation process (keeping
the commandments, invoking the power of the Holy Spirit,
overcoming sin, trusting God, becoming like Jesus Christ and
persevering on toward perfection). It will be
those "virgins" with lamps full. Spirit-driven logic would
conclude that many of these individuals would be somewhere
gathered together and known by a church organization name.
Clearly, there could be easily more than one. That is up to
the good pleasure of God according to the above elements we
have stated.
