SUBJECT: The Star of David vs. the Pentagram
QUESTION: Are the Jews not using a pagan symbol with
their Star of David?
ANSWER:
No they are not.
There is more than one factor here.
1] All things pagan mean nothing to the true Christian.
2] The symbols are not truly the same.
3] The origins of both were separate.
4] Physical Israel today is vastly different from spiritual
Israel, the Church of God
5] The Church of God uses no such symbols.
Number One: All things pagan mean nothing to
the true Christian.
This is learned in the recording by Paul on the subject of
meat offered to idols. Some in the church did not feel
right eating meat offered to idols. Paul states that the
idols mean nothing. The principle applies to all things
having to do with paganism, Wiccan, witchcraft and false
gods. Their use of symbol means nothing for the gods and
doctrines are null and mean nothing.
1 Corinthians 8:1-4
Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we
all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity
edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he
knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love
God, the same is known of him. As concerning therefore the
eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto
idols, we know that an idol is
nothing in the world, and that there is none
other God but one.
Item Two:
The symbols are not truly the same.
Item Three: The origins of both were separate.
See the following sites and notice the symbols that are
predominately used. They are not truly the same. The
histories of origin are seemingly rather separate.
Star of David

The Star of David or Shield of David is a generally
recognized symbol of Jewish identity and Judaism. It is
named after King David of ancient Israel; and its earliest
known communal usage began in the Middle Ages, alongside the
more ancient symbol of the menorah. Geometrically it is the
hexagram [see below].

Pentagram
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram
The pentacle,
a
pentagram within a circle, is the most recognizable
symbol of Wicca. The pentacle represents the integration of
body and spirit, and the spiritual mastery of the four
elements. The pentacle is used in a number of Wiccan
rituals, and as a Grade sign in Gardnerian and other
traditions. The pentacle is often worn as a symbol of
recognition amongst practitioners, especially those who
practice a code of secrecy.

Hexagram

Here you will see the hexagram used by many groups for
different reasons including:
--Christians
--Jews – Israel
--Arabs and Muslims
--Hinduism and Eastern Religions
--Kingdom of Karamanoğlu
--African Initiated Church in southern Africa
--Emblem of the Theosophical Society (founded in 1875).
--The pacifist International Raelian Movement
--Occult
--In alchemy, the two triangles represent the reconciliation
of the opposites of fire and water.
--In southern Germany the hexagram can be found as part of
tavern anchors.
--A six-point star is used as an identifying mark of the
Folk Nation an alliance of street gangs based out of the
Chicago.
The Hexagram is a common mathematical shape and it is not
surprising that so many would naturally use it.

Item Four: Physical Israel today is vastly
different from spiritual Israel, the Church of God
Neither the country of Israel nor the twelve tribes
currently scattered around the world are spiritual Israel.
God is not performing His work through them. Clearly, He
has stated that He will call many of them to the church just
before the return of Christ. See our booklet, “Who are the
144,000?” Therefore, like the rest of the world at the
present time, they are left to their own devices and
choices. The hexagram has no linkage to God or the Work He
is doing.
Item Five: The Church of God uses no such
symbols.
The Church of God uses no such symbols. They have no basis
in the Word of God. Their use is not commanded. The
symbols have no meaning in the spread of the gospel or in
the Salvation Process afforded to all humans in the greater
plan of God. |
