SUBJECT: Satan
QUESTIONS: Is Satan unintelligent?
Doesn’t he know his end? Why is he doing the things
that he does? Does he think that He can defeat God
still?
ANSWER:
This is always a fascinating question. In one aspect, Satan
is blinded by jealousy and bitterness. Another aspect is
that he is extremely cunning and has a certain amount of
power as compared to us. Though he cannot do anything
without permission of God (read
the opening chapters of Job), he is the being
over this world. He has been given certain leeway to do all
the things we see happening both in the world in general and
to a certain extent, in the church.
Satan and the demons can read and they know the Bible in and
out...
James 2:19
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the
devils also believe, and tremble.
They know God and they know His plan. They know their end.
This does not stop them from doing what they do. It is in
their nature now. They are bitter and will do anything,
within that leeway given them by God, to defeat His plan,
even though their end is certain. In this aspect they are
blinded in a way, but moreover, bitter.
Their plan failed. They wanted everything and they are
already defeated. They are present and witness to the plan
of God to bring man through the Salvation Process to the
Family of God which is above all angels. This adds to the
bitterness.
Here are some key verses:
Matthew 8:29
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with
thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to
torment us before the time?
Note:
They know their time is coming.
Acts 16:16-17
16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain
damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which
brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These
men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto
us the way of salvation.
Acts 19:15
And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and
Paul I know; but who are ye?
Note:
They know who God's servants are.
Jude 6
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left
their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains
under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Note:
Satan has read this.
