SUBJECT: False
Doctrine
QUESTION: How are firstfruits led astray by false
doctrine
ANSWER:
Maybe we can answer this question by discussing a puzzle
that has made its way around the Internet in the last decade
or so. It will demonstrate how one can be led astray by
manipulation.
The
Puzzle
I love these kinds of weird puzzles where everyone comes out
with the same answer but there is often a reason. Here is
the reason why this one works:
First the puzzle itself:
Think of a number from 1 to 10
Multiply that number by 9
If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together
Now subtract 5
Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the
number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c, etc.)
Think of a country that starts with that letter
Remember the last letter in the name of that country
Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter
Remember the last letter in the name of that animal
Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter
Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange?
Told you this was FREAKY!!
If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds
are different enough to think of something else. 98% of
people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this
exercise. Freaky, huh?
THE SOLUTION AND WHY WE COME
UP WITH A KANGAROO IN DENMARK EATING AN ORANGE
First you pick a number between 1 and 10 and multiply that
number by 9. Here are the possibilities:
1 x 9 =9
2 x 9=18
3 x 9=27
4 x 9=36
5 x 9=45
6 x 9=54
7 x 9=63
8 x 9=72
9 x 9=81
10 x 9=90
The next step is to add the digits together and subtract 5
As you can readily see, all additions result in the number 9
and that means that EVERYONE playing the game has a
result of "4". This means that EVERYONE has the letter "D"
as the game continues.
The next step is to choose a country that starts with this
letter "D". Here are your choices:
Djibouti in Africa
Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa
Dominica in the Caribbean
Dominican Republic in the Caribbean
Denmark in Europe
What do you think most people will chose? Clearly more
people will pick Denmark.
Next you must pick an animal beginning with K
Looking in the Dictionary I find:
Kangaroo
Kangaroo rat
Katydid--a long-horned grasshopper
Kea--a New Zealand parrot
Kestrel--a small European falcon
Kiang--an Asiatic wild ass
Killdeer
Killer whale
King Cobra
King Charles spaniel
King crab
Kingfish
Kingfisher
King snake
Kinkajou--a slender nocturnal arboreal carnivorous mammal
Kipper--a male salmon after the spawing season
Kite--a hawk
Kit fox
Kiwi
Koala bear
Kudu--African antelope
One can easily conclude that most people will think of
"Kangaroo". When the mind begins searching the memory for
an animal beginning with "k" it often goes to the most
familiar and often to an alphabetical list. Notice that
"Kangaroo" is at the top of the list and is generally the
more well known. The mind will go first to the familiar
before going to more complex and less familiar. Most on the
list are less familiar. How many people know what a
"Kinkajou", "Kudu" or "Kea" are? People will think "bird"
before "Kingfisher" and "whale" before "killer whale".
So, having chosen "Kangaroo" that gives us the letter 'o' in
which to think of a fruit beginning with this letter.
Same reasoning as with the animal beginning with "K". How
many fruits does one know beginning with "O"? Clearly
"orange" is the most common by far. Can anyone think of
something other than "orange" beginning with "O"?
There you have it. Pretty simple when you think it
through. The puzzle or game forces you down a very narrow
corridor to a single result or conclusion.
False doctrine and manipulation of your spiritual mind can
and does work the same way. This is why firstfruits have to
be immersed in and full of the Word of God. When the puzzle
was first given to me, I came to the same conclusion as 98%
of the population. However, something in me told me that I
was being manipulated, so I set about, “proving all
things.” I dissected the puzzle and found that it was, in
fact, false, in that the conclusion was not my choice but a
clever and slick manipulation of my mind. The puzzle was,
therefore, false as I was not making free decisions but
being led to a single one that was preconceived by the
author of the puzzle. Notice how amazed you were when I
announced what it was you were thinking. Therein lies the
rub. It was not that I was clever or a “prophet” but that I
already knew where you were going and what answer most of
you would have.
In the area of doctrine, do not let clever and slick
arguments lead you to false conclusions. Only believe what
sound doctrine and the Word of God teach you.

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and
hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned
them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy
scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation
through faith which is in Christ Jesus. –2
Tim 3:14-15
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase
unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a
canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning
the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past
already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the
foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord
knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth
the name of Christ depart from iniquity. –2
Tim 2:16-19
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we
made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. –2
Peter 1:16
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men,
that turn from the truth. –Titus
1:14
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise
thyself rather unto godliness. –1
Tim 4:7
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which
minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in
faith: so do. –1 Tim 1:4
Note: First and
foremost:
Immerse yourself into the Word of God and maintain a
close relationship with God, the Father and Jesus Christ,
the head of this Church. DO
THIS DILIGENTLY. Focus FIRST on the Spiritual
and lastly on the physical elements of the church. Do as
these scriptures say and SHUN profane and vain babblings.
Rely on the power of the Holy Spirit. Jerk your eyes from
the screen of profane and slick web sites. Delete e-mails
that seek to destroy you with crafty reasoning and logic to
give up or neglect sound doctrine. Avoid strife and
anything divisive.
Never allow someone the use of the Word of God to tear down
the church, its ministry or its members. The Word of God
can only be used to lift one up, not put him down
Remain steadfast and NEVER fall for anything slick.
Take heed, for the Era of Slick
Arguments is NOW!!
