SUBJECT:  The Church

QUESTION:  I have been looking at the teachings, beliefs and doctrines of a number of churches that have all sprung from the Worldwide Church of God.  I am having trouble sorting out all these things.  Can you convince me that it is your church that is right and the others wrong?

ANSWER:

You bring up a very interesting point in asking for an explanation why our church is right and another wrong.  Actually, we have no such explanation and I will tell you why.

It is the Word of God that is right.  It is the Plan of God and His Salvation Process that are right.  These things are right before we can talk about a church or human leader being right.

Oddly, the Plan of God right now and the Work of the church is not about being right, for the sake of being right.  It is about proclaiming the gospel of the good news of the return of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.  For those being called now, as firstfruits, it is about feeding them with and through the Word of God.  It is not the Work of the church to convince anyone of anything.  Whether you be a member of the public, hearing the gospel message or a firstfruit member of the church hearing sermons, we are not about convincing anyone of anything.

In the case of the public hearing the gospel:  They need only to hear it.  When events begin to change and we enter the Great Tribulation, people will remember that gospel message and understand what is happening.  This is true for those who heard the gospel and died.  When they come up in the second resurrection, they will remember and understand.

In the case of the firstfruit member:  They hear sermons, study doctrine and the Word of God.  Their obligation is to prove what they hear.

Everything comes down to God working individually with each person.  Each person has to work out his or her own salvation.  The church is there to help; to feed the flock, but each member must work out his or her own relationship with God. 

In your case, all you need do is wait for God’s calling to the Salvation Process.  Godly calling is a miracle.  By this miracle, an individual will be called to repentance, baptism and the receiving of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands.  This places the individual into the Salvation Process.
