SUBJECT:  Passover – The Alternative Passover (Lord’s Supper)---2011

QUESTION: What do I do if I am unable to attend the Passover (Lord’s Supper) service on 18 April 2011?  What is the Alternative Passover?  Are there instructions in the Bible for the Alternative Passover (Lord’s Supper)? 

ANSWER

Yes there are.  It takes place one month later.  The scripture for this is Numbers 9:11

Numbers 9:8-11

8 And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you.

9 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD.

11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

The verse says that if you cannot take the Lord’s Supper on the 14th of Nisan (the first month) then you take it on the 14th of

the second month (Iyyar).  This would be Wednesday 18 May 2011.  The service would take place the evening before on Tuesday, the 17^th of May at sundown.
